Annually, on May 9, Russia commemorates those who fought and died during World War II by holding the Immortal Regiment March across all Russian cities. In Kazan, the event brought together more than 170 thousand people, which was a record compared to the last few decades. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov became a part of memorial action as well. KNRTU students, faculty members and academic administration made their way from KNRTU Building A to Millennium Square. KNRTU memorial march was headed by Acting Rector Yury Kazakov.

The atmosphere of that day was full of patriotic spirit, pride and sorrow. The participants of the Immortal Regiment procession were walking down the streets of our city carrying the portraits of their near and dear ones, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the world peace.
The Immortal Regiment March of 2022 was organized for the first time since COVID-19 infection outbreak in 2020. Thus, in the last two years it was held in the online format in accordance with epidemiological safety measures.
