28.12.2018

One of the priorities for KNRTU as a national research university and a member of the Consortium for the export of higher education is to work in foreign educational services markets. Uzbekistan holds one of the leading positions among the partner countries of KNRTU: for many decades KNRTU has been providing training for the specialists from Uzbekistan.

In 2019, this fruitful partnership will receive further development as Uzbekistan implements the program for education development. On the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, a program of complex development of the higher education system was adopted for a five-year period. This program involves sending more than 3.5 thousand specialists abroad for taking master’s and PhD programs, advanced training and internships.Earlier, around $ 5.4 million was allocated for this purpose. Now, according to the President of Uzbekistan, this amount will be increased.

It is notable that statement of the President of Uzbekistan on the development of the education system coincided with the visit of the Rector of KNITU. From December 17th to December 20th, a delegation from KNRTU visited Tashkent, Samarkand and Jizzakh. A series of meetings was held with representatives of the republican government and universities of Uzbekistan. They also discussed options to develop a roadmap to the existing inter-university agreement signed in 2017.

Sergey Yushko gave his comments on the results of the visit:
“The systematic work conducted by the administration of Uzbekistan in the development and modernization of the higher education system opens up new prospects for our university. We are well known in Uzbekistan, we understand the needs of this country and are ready to become even more involved in the training of specialists for the republic, the organization of various forms of advanced training, including distance learning. In the near future, the representative office of KNRTU will be opened in Uzbekistan.”
