In 2021-22 academic year, during the classes in “EU Practices to Support Innovative Engineering Entrepreneurship”. Dilbar Sultanova, the Chair for Department of Innovations in Chemical Technology, runs discussions with students on the topics of support for innovative entrepreneurship in the EU countries, including research grants, tax incentives, and intellectual property rights.

Graduate students who have already worked in business or industry are always interested in applied experience of professors in the area that they are teaching. Dilbar Sultanova has research interests in industrial cluster policy and cooperation between business and education. While examining the polymer cluster in Germany, graduate students also learn about the partnerships of the Department of Innovations in Chemical Technology with industries in this area, and practical information about the polymers produced in Germany, feedstock used, networking mechanisms for collaborations between innovative centers and industry through clusters. The future of chemistry and chemical industry is viewed from the positions of the chemical cluster North Rhine Westphalia region and Evonik Industries AG.

In general, the course develops the expertise of students in the EU entrepreneurship support policy thus fostering the introduction of EU angle into mainly non-EU related studies.
