Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module “EU Practices in Green Textiles: from Focused Education to Circular Economy” Launches at KNRTU

On January 31, 2022, Erasmus+ Jean Monnet “EU Practices in Green Textiles: from Focused Education to Circular Economy” started for 20 first year students in engineering BEng degree program in Textile Engineering at the Department of Technology of Chemical and Natural Fibers and Articles.
The module academic coordinator and leader Dr. Irina Krasina told the students about the module in general and introduced the courses within the module and the professors who will give lectures and seminars: EU Green Deal and Circular Economy (24 contact hours, Alina Ibatullina), EU Textile Strategy (29 contact hours, Irina Krasina), EU Environmentally Friendly Chemical Technologies (24 contact hours, Veronika Bronskaya), Cultural Dimensions of EU Sustainable Development (18 contact hours, Julia Ziyatdinova).
Following academic leader’s general presentation, Dr. Alina Ibatullina spoke to the students about the sustainable development goals in EU as the ultimate objective of the module courses. Dr. Veronika Bronskaya gave a short overview of her course focusing on EU initiatives in developing innovative chemical technologies.
Dr. Julia Ziyatdinova informed the students about the EU Erasmus+ Program aimed at supporting, through lifelong learning, the educational, professional and personal development of people in education, in Europe and beyond, thereby contributing to sustainable growth, quality jobs and social cohesion, to driving innovation, and to strengthening European identity and active citizenship. The aim of Erasmus+ Jean Monnet modules is to increase knowledge on the European Union and promote European identity as well as active citizenship.
Each of the courses in the module will be given within the study plan of the BEng degree program.
