The Course on EU Green Deal and Circular Economy started

On February, 7, 2022, the first class in the course “EU Green Deal and Circular Economy” was given to BEng students by Dr. Alina Ibatullina, Associate Professor at the Department of Technology of Chemical and Natural Fibers and Articles.
The first class focused on the issues of sustainable development goals in EU. Then in a practical class, working in groups, students discussed water conservation, land conservation from desertification and many other problems. For the next class, the teams prepare reports on particular sustainable development goals to share with each other.
This course is a part of “Textile Materials Science” discipline taught in the Russian language. During the semester, the course will cover the following topics:
1. Goals of EU research and innovation policy. EU environmental institutions and bodies.
2. The issues of the EU environmental policies.
3. Certification procedures for the EU producers, new trends in environmentally friendly green chemistry and power engineering.
4. Sustainable product policy & eco-design in EU.
5. EU research and innovation for building a resource-efficient and climate-resilient society and economy in sync with the natural environment.
6. Summaries of EU legislation on environment.
7. EU Strategy for textiles.
