On April 19, at the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan a youth career forum “Step into career” started its work. One of the most significant events on the agenda was job fair organized by large engineering, petrochemical and technological companies. The event took place in the framework of the federal academic leadership program Priority 2030 at the initiative of the three leading technical universities of Tatarstan such as Kazan National Research Technological University, Kazan National Research Technical University named after A. N. Tupolev and Kazan State Power Engineering University.

It is the first time our republic hosts such a large-scale event. Previously, each university used to act as a mediator between its students and industrial partners. However, as the universities’ heads unanimously emphasized at the opening of the forum, it would be in everyone’s interest to collaborate. The rector of Kazan National Research Technical University named after A. N. Tupolev Timur Alibaev called the opening day of the forum "a landmark for technical universities of the republic", as it provided the opportunity for such corporations as Rostec, Roscosmos, Rosatom, the leading enterprises of Tatarstan and other regions of Russia to take advantage of finding the best graduates.

Among the prospective employers which participated in the work of the forum were more than 50 organizations such as PJSC Gazprom, PJSC SIBUR Holding, PJSC Tatneft, JSC TANECO, JSC "Nefis Cosmetics", JSC “Tatenergo”, Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Tatarstan, IT companies and others.

Acting Rector of KNRTU Yury Kazakov supported his colleague from KNRTU named after A. N. Tupolev. According to his opinion, it was no coincidence that the three leading technical universities decided to gather together both students and industrial partners. He stated that not only related fields enterprises, but also other companies are interested in graduates of these three educational institutions, as our young engineers are multi-skilled specialists, who constantly keep developing their competencies in different areas.

The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Kazan State Power Engineering University Alexander Leontyev shared his and his colleagues plans for the future. Thus, it is planned to develop network cooperation, in the framework of which students of one university will have an opportunity to attend classes at the other two, as well as to use library resources, conduct research and organize student events.

Admittedly, the work of the forum was fruitful enough, as it resulted in signing the consortium agreement between the three leading technical universities of the Republic of Tatarstan. The document was signed on April 20, by Acting Rector of KNRTU Yury Kazakov, Rector of Kazan State Power Engineering University Edward Abdullazyanov and Acting Rector of Kazan National Research Technical University named after A. N. Tupolev Timur Alibaev.

“The signing of the agreement is only the first step on the way to integration”- Yury Kazakov stated. “I am looking forward to successful collaboration. Taking into account the number of industrial enterprises in Tatarstan, our partnership can definitely benefit from it and have outstanding results. We do hope that this joint event and our future consortium, which, by the way, other universities can join as well, are not the last ones”.
