TWO NEW DORMITORIES FOR THE KNRTU STUDENTS

12.09.2022

SIBUR and KNRTU have expanded their strategic partnership. A new stage of cooperation was the project of increasing housing facilities. During Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Forum, SIBUR signed an agreement on transfer two its dormitories with the capacity up to 500 people to KNRTU.

We increase the potential of the university by improving its housing stock and providing more opportunities for nonresident students for comfortable and economical accommodation during their study. The dormitories built in 1976 and 1977 are located in Kazan on Blucher Street, 84 and Shamil Usmanov Street, 25a. Previously, they were the places of residence for Kazanorgsintez employees. In 2020, both dormitories were renewed. The rooms are already furnished and new plumbing has been installed.

“SIBUR is our key partner, and we are glad that our partnership is rapidly developing”, - noted Yury Kazakov, Acting Rector of KNRTU.

According to Airat Safin, General Director of Kazanorgsintez, the company values the scientific and educational potential of the Republic of Tatarstan – the one of the key regions for the company’s business. Dormitories transfer was one of the steps, which was preceded by the launch of the unique Advanced Engineering Schools program and will be followed by many other landmark projects, said Airat Safin.

- It is important to note that the expansion of the KNRTU housing stock was the result of joint efforts, which was achieved thanks to the focus of all parties – the administration of the Republic, the university itself and SIBUR – for optimal solutions and the constant expansion of cooperation.
