KNRTU signed a memorandum on cooperation with the Halal Standards Committee operating under the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan on November 30. The document was signed by KNRTU Acting Rector Yury Kazakov and Сhairman of the Committee Abbyas Hazrat Shlyaposhnikov.

The Technical Committee for the standardization of Halal Products and Services headed by Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafik Mukhametshin was established in 2017. KNRTU is also represented in this Committee by Rustem Khabibullin - Professor of the Department of Meat and Dairy Foods Technology. The Committee made a huge organizational and educational work on halal and developed a preliminary national standard of the Russian Federation “Halal Products and Services. General Terms and Definitions”.

A great deal of work in standardization of the halal industry is being done today in Russia, and Tatarstan holds a leading position, which is largely due to the vigorous activity of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the Russia —Islamic World Strategic Vision Group. Universities of the republic are also involved in this work.

Yury Kazakov noted the willingness for partnership. KNRTU is ready to cooperate with ministries and departments, apply for grants at various levels to support educational and scientific initiatives, and engage in international cooperation.
