Almaz Aetov, the Head of the Laboratory of the Department of Heat Engineering became the winner of the III International Environmental Prize EcoWorld in the nomination of Resource-saving and Environmentally Safe Technologies, Recycling of Production and Consumption Waste.

The prize is a public award for outstanding achievements in environmental protection and ecological safety, as well as other environmental activities aimed at sustainable development in the XXI century. This year, 170 applications were submitted from China, Brazil, Algeria, Greece, Russia and other countries.

At the awarding ceremony the Board of Trustees of the prize noted that Almaz Aetov's project of the Method of Decontamination of Water Waste Containing Hydrocarbons Using Supercritical Fluid Technology and his public work contribute to the development of environmental policy, increasing the level of environmental education and culture of population, the spread of environmentally friendly technologies, improving public health and preserving biodiversity.
