MEETING OF THE COORDINATING COUNCIL OF CIS NETWORK UNIVERSITY TOOK PLACE

On 31 May, was held a meeting of the Coordinating Council of the CIS Network University (CIS NU), organized annually by the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba, the project moderator for the development of humanitarian cooperation among the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The purpose of the CIS Network University is equal cooperation of CIS higher education institutions in the field of higher education, which is carried out by implementing joint educational programs, creating mechanisms for the development of academic mobility, as well as promoting intercultural dialogue among students. It is important to mention, that KNRTU was included in the CIS NU in January 2022.

The opening session began with welcoming remarks by Vladimir Filippov, Chair of the Coordinating Council of the CIS NU and President of the PFUR, Elena Gorozhankina, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and Pavel Shevtsov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo. Each of them emphasized the importance of creating joint educational programs between the countries participating in the Network University. Larisa Efremova, Vice-rector for International Affairs of the PFUR, made a presentation on the activities of the CIS NU, its main results and development prospects.

Our university was represented by Anna Sukhristina, Director of International Affairs, who reported on the results of the annual work of KNRTU in the framework of the CIS NU.

The meeting was also attended by universities from Russia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and other countries.
