On August 23 in Mendeleyevsk after capital overhaul the chemical and technological lyceum No. 3 “Descendants of Mendeleyev” was opened, it will receive students on September 1. Rustam N. Minnikhanov, the Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan, visited the renovated educational institution.

Methodological assistance in organization of educational activity was provided by the Boarding school for talanted children with advanced study in chemistry – remote campus of KNRTU. Plans of joint work of these two organizations include career guidance, scientific and practical conferences, excursions to industry enterprises and etc.

Rector of KNRTU Yury M. Kazakov presented a report on the stages of creation of Mendeleev Chemical Technology College, which is planned to opened in 2025.

The future college is one of the major projects of the cooperation program of Mendeleyevsky region administration, KNRTU and JSC Ammoni within the framework of the agreement signed in 2022.

JSC Ammoni is one of the key industrial partners of Advanced Engineering School of KNRTU (PromChemTech). The university already implements targeted master’s degree programs requested by the enterprise, specialists of JSC Ammoni undergo additional education programs, and KNRTU staff complete internships at operating plants. In addition, there are plans to set up a scientific and research laboratory for JSC Ammoni purposes on the basis of the university.

“We are confident that our cooperation will fundamentally affect the city: graduates will stay here, specialists will be employed at the enterprise, school and college. It would be one of the advanced centers in the field of chemical industry, education and science”, – noted Yury Kazakov.

Rustam N. Minnikhanov higly appreciated the potential of the project and supported the initiative to accelerate the accreditation procedure.
