From September 7 to 8, with an ambitious business, exhibition and cultural program, Kazan hosted The First International Economic Forum "ROSTKI: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation". Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan, Alexander Sokolov, Governor of the Kirov Region, Vladimir Uiba, Head of the Republic of Komi, representatives of the regions of the People's Republic of China welcomed the participants and guests of the outstanding event: more than 5,500 businessmen, managers and manufacturers from 24 countries and 57 regions of Russia came to Kazan to discuss the issues of mechanical engineering and petrochemistry, economics and finance, transportation and tourism, culture and education. The exposition of KNRTU was also presented at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center.

Yury Kazakov, Rector of KNRTU and Pavel Kochnev, Director of KNRTU Design Institute Soyuzkhimpromproekt, presented our exposition at the opening of the exhibition to the leaders of Tatarstan, Russian regions and foreign guests. According to Yury Kazakov, within the cooperation with Beijing University of Chemical Technology, KNRTU has formed a group of students - future polymer engineers, simultaneously studying under the programs of both universities (in Kazan and Beijing). The main partner in this project is SIBUR, the future employer of these students. Similar projects are being developed with a number of other PRC industry universities.

“The Design Institute of KNRTU is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, and it is meeting the anniversary on a high note: more than 500 people work in Soyuzkhimpromproekt, the average age of the team is 40 years, and the portfolio includes major projects, including joint projects with Sinopec (as part of the Amur Gas Chemical Complex), China Chengda Engineering (methanol production in Nakhodka), TCC (production of thermoplastic elastomers in Voronezh, naphtha hydrotreating at TANECO) and a number of others. Soyuzkhimpromproekt has a great experience in working with foreign customers and is always ready to meet Chinese partners.”, the Director of the Design Institute told about the work with China in the field of engineering.

“The direction of cooperation with China is very significant for us, - China is now the most high-tech partner in the field of chemical technologies, the Chinese technology market is one of the widest. Chinese engineering companies are actively entering the Russian market and need reliable partners in the field of design in order to jointly present themselves to investors. Soyuzkhimpromproekt is one of the top five domestic design organizations working in the field of industrial design and we have no doubt that our capabilities will interest the Chinese side”, commented Pavel Kochnev on the participation of the Design Institute in the exhibition.
