The 3rd Russia-Uzbekistan Interregional Cooperation Forum is taking place these days in Kazan. More than 1,500 representatives of government, education and business of the two countries are participating in it.

Leading enterprises and universities presented innovative products, manufactured in Tatarstan to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Our university also took part in the forum. Rector Yury Kazakov, Acting Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations Ruslan Safin, Director of KNRTU Soyukhzimpromproekt Pavel Kochnev and the team of Pre-University Education Department presented projects, carried out in cooperation with Uzbekistan.

Among them are the International Olympiad “The Future of Big Chemistry”, which KNRTU conducts among schoolchildren from near abroad countries with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo and PJSC Tatneft (this year KNRTU received 37 participants of the Olympiad from Uzbekistan, and 135 children from this country became finalists) and the MTO Gas Chemical Complex in Bukhara, with which this spring the university signed an agreement on targeted personnel training, organization of industrial internships for students and advanced training courses for staff.

Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of Tatarstan, informed the distinguished guest about the quality and wide geography of works performed by KNRTU Project Institute. Yury Kazakov added that the portfolio of KNRTU Soyuzkhimpromproekt already includes works realized in Uzbekistan: for example, recently a plant for production of synthetic liquid fuel was launched in the country and project works were carried out by our Soyuzkhimpromproekt.
