SEMINAR ON CYBERSECURITY OF AUTOMATED PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS WAS HELD AT KNRTU

On October 19, on the basis of the KNRTU Institute of Automated Control Systems and Information Technologies was held a research and practice seminar on safety issues of control systems of technological processes.

The event was attended by professors, students of the Departments of Automated Data Acquisition and Processing Systems, Process Automation and Control, Information Science and Applied Mathematics, Intelligent Systems and Information Systems Control, IT Security, Systems Engineering and by the representatives of industrial enterprises (NPP “GKS”, JSC “ArcticGas”). The reports presented at the event attracted great interest of the participants.

The first speaker Prof. Gevorg Margarov, Head of the Department of Information Security and Software Development of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia, was invited to our university within the framework of the implementation of the grant of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan “Algarysh”. He talked about the fact that the constant development of IT-technologies and cyberspace predetermines the search for new protective methods, techniques and mechanisms against various threats and negative impacts.

Dmitry Avramenko, Head of the Cyber Security Department of Automated Process Control Systems of LLC “Innostage”, described the modern approach to the design of automated process control systems within the framework of information security. Danila Kasyrin, an Information Protection Implementation Group Engineer of the Automated Process Control System of LLC “Innostage”, presented practical solutions realized at the enterprises on secure data transfer, and also told about the areas of responsibility of IT and automated process control system.

Acting Chair of the KNRTU Department of Information Security Lina Safiullina in her report “Problems of Critical Information Infrastructure Security in the Context of Modern Challenges” demonstrated the ways and methods of information interception, as well as the possibilities of their prevention.

At the end of the seminar, a round table was held with company representatives, where they shared their experience in ensuring information security and preventing cyber threats in their organizations.
