07.11.2023

From November 1st till November 3rd representatives of KNRTU took part in the exhibition of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum – an authoritative platform where the tasks and prospects of the gas industry were discussed by representatives of government authorities, key players of domestic and international business, representatives of scientific and research structures, design institutes and university-partners of PJSC Gazrprom.

The forum exhibition program was held in three pavilions of ExpoForum, the largest congress and exhibition center in St. Petersburg. More than 500 Russian and foreign companies demonstrated their products here. 18 Gazprom partner universities, including KNRTU, were presented at the exhibition.

“At the forum we met with our key partners who confirmed their willingness to work, discussed the directions of further cooperation,” - said Dilbar Sultanova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of KNRTU.

One of the forum’s important topics was the issue of personnel training for the energy industry. It also became a key topic at the meeting of Gazprom’s Scientific and Educational Inter-University Council, which was attended by Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee. In his speech he outlined the industry development strategy – deep gas processing, i.e. gas chemistry, which is one of the priority areas for KNRTU. In addition, the Head of the сompany noted the demand for the ‘School of Chief Technologist’ network project involving three core universities (KNRTU, Gubkin University and Ufa State Petroleum Technological University) aimed at developing engineering education.

The meeting brought together rectors and vice rector of the Company’s partner universities. Dilbar Sultanova made a report on the implementation of practice-oriented training in partner universities. Besides the main agreement on improving the quality of education and personnel training with PJSC Gazprom, the university has signed agreements on joint activity plans with Gazprom Pererabotka and Gazprom Transgaz Kazan. With each of these partners we developed separate cooperation programs that envisage specific projects and events oriented towards training engineering personnel.

Among the important directions are practice at Gazprom enterprises and lecturers’ internships. According to Dilbar Sultanova, in 2023, 345 students completed internships in subsidiaries and organizations of Gazprom company, which is 177 students more than in 2022. 47 lecturers will undergo internships at Gazprom enterprises by the end of the year. Furthermore, five new laboratories were created and the ‘School of Chief Engineer’ is making progress.

The participants discussed the prospects of joint work: opening of the master’s degree program, secondary vocational education; professional and public accreditation in the field of study of the Oil and Gas Engineering; creation of education and technological polygons; expansion of R&D in Gazprom’s current production areas. The programs of additional professional education for the university's industry partners were presented at KNRTU exposition by Julia Ziyatdinova, Director of the Institute of Additional Professional Education.
