“Learn English well,” emphasized Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dilbar Sultanova and Director of International Affairs Anna Sukhristina during a meeting with the selected students for double degree program on December 5th.

KNRTU students studying at the Institute of Polymers in the field of Chemical Engineering have a unique opportunity to get two diplomas (Russian and Chinese) after successful defense of their thesis. In 2022 KNRTU launched the joint Double Degree Program with the long-term partner - Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT). In 2023, 14 students continue their studies at BUCT under this program.

“It was challenging. The adaptation process is different for everyone, but students are satisfied with their studies, as well as the lecturers from BUCT with our students,” noted Prof. Dilbar Sultanova.

A new country, culture, language, groupmates, education that is only conducted in English – are the challenges students face. Nevertheless, the feedback about studying in BUCT is the most positive.

Today KNRTU started a new round for admission to the program. The second group of students who successfully pass the interview with BUCT will have a chance to study at BUCT the following academic year. SIBUR company, an industrial partner of KNRTU, will cover the transportation costs and provide a scholarship for excellent students. “The company is interested in qualified specialists with a great language proficiency level and a willingness to work in the cities where the company operates,” marked Anastasia Maksimushkina (SIBUR Manager).

Recall that last week KNRTU and BUCT signed an agreement that includes a new major Digital Methods in Polymers and Composite Materials Processing as part of the Double Degree Program.
