KNRTU GRADUATE DESIGNS GIANT ART OBJECT IN THE CENTER OF KAZAN

A new giant art object in the form of a chasite, a traditional women's decoration, has appeared on the wall of a high-rise building on Tatarstan Street, 7, in Kazan. It was worn over the left shoulder and under the right arm, and coins, precious stones, buttons, prayer cases, or miniature Quran were embroidered on the outer side.

The panel was made in an advertising workshop by KNRTU graduate Sergey Grigoriev. In 2021, he graduated from our university, where he studied in the Department of Wood Processing and participated in professional skill championships in the field of Industrial Design.

"Ilnur I. Siraev, a painter and Chairman of the Union of Artists of Tatarstan, approached us with sketches on canvas. It took almost a month to design the layout. I transferred the smallest details, lines, and patterns into digital form, trying to preserve the authenticity of the product completely. Then, together with the artist, we selected materials and colors. An engineer from our company prepared the production of the panel - it is a very complex and painstaking job, as there are over 3,000 attachment points to the wall on this object," Sergey said.
