05.03.2024

Last weekend, the World Youth Festival was launched in Sochi. The large-scale event brought together young people from 188 countries.

Our students Valeria Sugak, Timerkhan Shaimardanov, Karina Miftakhova and Diana Noskova actively participate in the forum events as volunteers. They help guests to navigate on the festival venues and manage all current issues.

“There was a training and a detailed briefing for us, so that the work went smoothly. Timerkhan and I accompany and provide language assistance to delegations from the Republic of Belarus and Serbia. Diana manages the flow of people and helps navigate all the participants on the site. Karina is a volunteer of the program and attache of the teams’ squads”, said Valeria.

The KNRTU delegation was led by Roman Tonshev, Head of the Department of Youth Policy and Social Work. The students are visiting various festival venues, participating in masterclasses, and meeting with speakers of interest.

“Our work at the festival began at Rosa Khutor Peak, where we went up with delegations from Kazakhstan and Tomsk Region. After introductions, networking was held in the Kazan pavilion by Liana Sabirova. The event was organized within the framework of cultural exchange so that representatives of Kazakhstan could learn more about our country and republic”, said Alfis Sabirov.

According to Rustem Salakhutdinov, all event participants are in a great mood because Sochi has become a hub for young people from around the world.

“Lots of smiles, lots of new acquaintances. Representatives from different countries rush to take pictures with the festival's mascot, Cheburashka! This cute and kind hero has become the mascot of the event for a reason – there is a very friendly atmosphere here!”, shared Rustem.
