The signing ceremony of the agreement on the implementation of the Double Degree Program in Technological Machines and Equipment jointly with Beijing University of Chemical Technology took place on April 16. This is the second direction of the program, which gives students the opportunity to study at KNRTU and BUCT at once. In 2022, an agreement was signed for Chemical Technology, under which 14 students from the Institute of Polymers went to Beijing in September 2023 to continue their studies at BUCT in their 3rd and 4th years of study.

Now the students of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering for Chemical and Petrochemical Industry have a unique opportunity to continue their studies in China and get two diplomas. Tuition at BUCT is free of charge, and the program is supported by SIBUR, which provides participants with a scholarship, covers transportation costs, organizes practical training at its enterprises, and guarantees employment for graduates.

"Russia is a major participant in the Belt and Road Initiative, and the friendship between the Chinese and Russian nations has a long history. BUCT has always attached importance to educational exchanges and cooperation with Russia. Double Degree Program for undergraduate students is an important novelty that we have introduced to jointly train talented students," said Professor Wang Feng, Vice President of Beijing University of Chemical Technology.

Professor Dilbar Sultanova, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, expressed her gratitude to the colleagues for the cooperation and new opportunities provided to KNRTU students. Students studying under the Double Degree Program will be able to receive high-quality education that meets international standards and acquire the necessary skills and competencies for a successful career in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
