KNRTU hosted the III All-Russian Conference of scientists, postgraduates and students “Innovations in the Design and Production Processes of Light Industry Products” dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Department of Clothing and Footwear Design.

Professor Ilfar Gilmutdinov, Acting Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech. The guests of honor were experienced teachers and representatives of the industry, who were at the origins of the Department: Lyudmila Abutalipova, Mafruziya Safiullina, Tatiana Saraeva, Olga Ivashkevich, Nina Evseeva, Ekaterina Borisova.

The conference discussed the prospects for the development of the light industry and education. Experienced teachers, industrialists and managers, including Irina Milyutina, Head of the Department of Business Education and Tourism of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Union of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Andrey Semyonov, Creative Director of CJSC Slavyanka, made presentations on the problems and new challenges in the industry.

Students took an active part in the work of the sections. Within the framework of the plenary session there were presentations of women's clothing models from the students of the Department, which were awarded prizes at various competitions.
