The International Student Athletics Match Encounter " Sports Queen" was held in Yekaterinburg from 5 to 8 September. Athletes from 28 countries competed at the Kalininets Stadium.

KNRTU was represented at the sports competitions by students of the Institute of Food Engeniering and Biotechnology, who showed excellent results. Damir Gainutdinov became the champion in the triple jump, Valeria Gromova won gold in the 100 m hurdles, and Daniil Peskov took third place in the 400 m.

The coach of the KNRTU national team was Alexander Petrov, senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sports.

"A couple of days before the match meeting, I ran 400 meters in St. Petersburg at the Russian Relay Championships. This is not my working distance, so it was especially difficult. Therefore, in preparation for the international competitions in Yekaterinburg, the coach and I decided to simply keep fit with warm-ups and light technical training in order to have time to recover. I went for the victory, it brought incredible emotions. The organization of the competition made an impression and turned out to be no worse than at the BRICS Sports Games last year. It was a pleasure to end the season on such a positive note and with an enthusiastic attitude for the winter," Valeria Gromova shared her impressions of the competition days.
