In early September, 15 3rd and 19 4th year students of the “KNRTU-BUCT 2+2” double degree program arrived in China, successfully settled into a dormitory and began studying at a partner university.

They were accompanied on the trip by L.D. Ziganshina, Head of the Department for the Development of Academic Cooperation at KNRTU, and she provided support in organizational matters and interaction with the Chinese side.

Students of the 4th year, who have already completed a year of study at BUCT, actively help the newcomers to adapt, advise on educational and household matters. During the working meeting with representatives of the BUCT, the following key aspects of the 3 and 4-year students’ education were discussed in detail: living conditions, educational programs, academic performance and interaction with the teaching staff. Special attention was paid to the issues of further partnership development in the field of science and the implementation of new joint educational programs.

In the first week after arrival, a festival was organized for the students. All participants registered, received memorable gifts from the BUCT administration and took part in events aimed at adapting and teambuilding.

Sergey Ryzhkov, a participant in the program, a 3rd year student, shared his impressions: "6 months of various challenges, preparation, and tests. All this to achieve one goal — go to China. And not just to go, but to study there for 2 whole years. As soon as we arrived, the first thing they did was move us into a new dorm, show us a lot of sights, and teach us some Chinese phrases. There are a lot of interesting places on the campus itself: there are places to walk, admire the mountains, watch the sunsets, feed the ducks — it is extremely diverse and picturesque."

The “KNRTU–BUCT 2+2” program continues to develop successfully, providing students with the opportunity to receive high-quality education and invaluable experience in international cooperation.
