These days Moscow hosts the III International Forum of New Materials, Chemistry and Technologies "Chemistry and materials – the basis of technological leadership" – AMTExpo at the National Center "Russia". It is one of the key events of the national project "New Materials and Chemistry". KNRTU Representatives from the Institute of Polymers of took part in the forum.
The key topics of discussion were the first results and prospects of the national project "New Materials and Chemistry", the role of materials and technologies in the development of transport infrastructure, Arctic and space exploration, personnel training tasks for high–tech industries, and the development of complete production cycles from raw materials to finished products.
The plenary session was moderated by Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute Research Center, and was attended by Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation; Andrey Nikitin, Minister of Transport; Dmitry Bakanov, Director General of Roscosmos; Eduard Davidovich, Director General of Roschem; Denis Sekirinsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education; and Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Roscosmos. The forum was attended by representatives of almost all leading companies and research centers.
"Any technological innovation today is related in one way or another to the properties of the materials we use. The ability of the state to provide itself with these materials is a basic condition for technological sovereignty," Anton Alikhanov emphasized in his greeting. "We see how access or blocking access to certain materials, rare earths, becomes the subject of critical negotiations and an important lever of pressure."
Thematic sessions on composites, digital solutions, rare metals, additive technologies and other relevant areas are held during the forum.
As Ildar Musin, Director of the Polymer Institute, noted at the forum, "the international forum on Chemistry and materials allows us to assess current trends in technological development, which will allow us to coordinate the development strategy of our institute and university to solve problems important for the development of the industry and the country."
Anton Nikiforov, Associate Professor, took part in the work of one of the sections of the section's forum as a speaker.
