KNRTU SCIENTISTS DELIVERED POPULAR SCIENCE LECTURES AT THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF TATARSTAN

13.02.2026

On February 8, the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a "Marathon of Knowledge" dedicated to the Day of Russian Science. The speakers of the popular science lectures held on this day were two young scientists from KNRTU, heads of leading university departments.

Kirill Kholin, Head of the Department of Physics, Media Ambassador at KNRTU, and one of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science Zen account authors, delivered a lecture on the secrets of the quantum world. The audience learned why the laws of classical physics stop working on small scales, what wave-particle dualism is, superposition of states, why a particle can behave like a wave and what extraordinary consequences this leads to. During his speech, Kirill revealed both philosophical questions about the nature and predictability of reality, as well as practical examples of the application of quantum theory.

In turn, Artyom Bezrukov, Acting head of the Department of Physical and Colloidal Chemistry, told the audience about microfluidics, how microfluidic devices, which are called "laboratories-on-a-chip", help to reveal the properties of "smart" materials and what place they occupy in chemical technology. Microchannels in such micro devices mimic the capillaries of living organisms and become functional organ-on-a-chip models, helping, among other things, in solving medical problems. Artyom Nikolaevich also revealed the topic of artificial intelligence, which helps analyze processes in microchannels, opening up new opportunities for scientific research.

The new lecture project aroused great interest among the citizens and guests of the capital, as well as young fans of popular science knowledge and experiments.
