The Nizhnekamsk Institute of Chemical Technology (a branch of KNRTU) hosted a gala award ceremony for the winners of the 6th Republican Engineer of the Year competition. The ceremony was attended by Oleg Korobchenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as the heads of the region's largest industrial enterprises.
Among the 36 laureates selected by the competition committee, there were five representatives of Kazan National Research Technological University. Experts recognized their achievements in various categories, ranging from medical instrumentation to biotechnology.
Ali Edres Abdulwahab Saleh, Head of the Laboratory of the Department of Medical Engineering, won the nomination "Instrument engineering, including optoelectronic and medical" (category "Youth, success, prospect"). KNRTU graduate student Regina Gaffanova became the best in the nomination "Oil and Gas Industry" in the same category.
Associate Professor of the Department of Wood Materials Processing Viktor Sotnikov won a diploma in the nomination "Food, light, woodworking industry" (category "Youth, success, perspective"). In the category "Future Engineers", two students of KNRTU won: Dilara Lutfullina, a fourth-year student at the Institute of Food Production and Biotechnology (nominated for the "Food, Light, and Woodworking Industry" category), and Gadilya Shakirova, also a fourth-year student at the Institute of Food Production and Biotechnology (nominated for the "Chemistry, Petrochemistry, and Biotechnology" category).
This year, a total of 372 applications were submitted from 70 production organizations and 8 universities. The most popular categories were Agricultural Machinery and Mechanical Engineering, and the new category of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence immediately attracted the attention of young professionals.
