KNRTU AND ASKON: FUTURE PETROLEUM ENGINEERS WILL BE TAUGHT WITH RUSSIAN SOFTWARE

17.07.2026

KNRTU and the Russian company ASCON, known for its engineering software, have signed a cooperation agreement. Now KNRTU students will be able to master modern digital tools that are actively used in production.

The partnership was initiated by the Institute of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at KNRTU, which trains specialists who design equipment for chemical, oil and gas processing, and petrochemical plants.

"Today, the industry needs personnel who are fluent in Russian design, 3D modeling, and engineering analysis systems. Thanks to the agreement, KNRTU will gain access to the full package of ASCON software. This means that the learning process will be as close to real production conditions as possible," said Professor Ildar Gilmutdinov, Director of the Institute of High-Tech Materials at KNRTU.

Among the tools available for use:

• COMPASS-3D – for design engineering; • LOTSMAN:PLM – for managing all engineering data of a project; • VERTICAL – for automation of technological processes; • POLINOM:MDM – for convenient management of reference information.

The specialists of ASCON will not only provide the software, but also actively engage in the educational process: they will help to update the course programs and hold special electives.
