The KNTU track and field team won prizes at two major all‑Russian tournaments. Alina Shishkova, a master’s student at the Institute of Food Production and Biotechnology, competed in the “Summer Student Championship” and took second place in race walking over a distance of 10,000 metres. At the same competition, Damir Gainutdinov, a student at the Institute of Food Production and Biotechnology, became the Russian student champion in the triple jump.

The coach of the KNRTU team, Alexander Vladimirovich Petrov, noted the high level of the competitions that took place:

“The competitions were intense, and all our athletes representing the university team managed to reach the podium. Among the student teams from other universities, there are highly qualified athletes who are difficult to compete with, but nevertheless, our guys managed to stand up to the strongest and win.”

Immediately after his successful performance at the student level, Damir Gainutdinov competed in Yekaterinburg as part of the adult Russian Athletics Championship, where he took second place in his discipline. This allowed him to meet the standard and qualify for the main roster of the Russian national team to participate in international competitions.

“Damir managed to study, work, and train. His journey was difficult and challenging, but despite all the hardships, we were able to overcome them and reach the podium,” commented the athlete’s coach, Alexander Vladimirovich Petrov.
