Moscow hosted The international competition “Mayor’s Cup — Triathlon League & IRONSTAR”, bringing together more than 2,200 athletes from all over the country. In the “super‑sprint” discipline, Rafael Ravilievich Khairullin, head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports (FizVSS) at KNRTU, won the gold medal in his age category.

The participants had to complete a sequence of 250 meters of swimming, 5 kilometers of cycling, and 1.5 kilometers of running three times. According to Rafael Ravilevich, the short distance turned out to be deceptively difficult.:

"This is my first super sprint experience. I had never competed on such short stages before and I thought it would be easier, but the pace turned out to be extremely high from the start."

But despite the difficulties, Rafael Ravilevich is already making new plans. Now he dreams of reaching the full "Ironman" distance.

"I've been doing triathlon relatively recently, but I really liked it right away. “As for my plans, I would certainly like to complete a full triathlon,” the head of the department summed up.
