On February 27, the delegation of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Kazan and the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan visited our university.

Issues of cooperation between universities and the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Kazan were discussed at a meeting with Rector of KNRTU Yury Kazakov and KNRTU colleagues.

The Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, established in 2016 under the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, is a young but very promising university with five scientific and educational directions: chemical engineering and nanotechnology, biotechnology and environment, computer and IT technologies, cyberphysics, and economics of innovation. There are three stages of education (Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral studies). The university has established a research center for general and applied biology, it has its own school, and a technopark is in the process of being created.

Colleagues (among them were Rector Gurbanmyrat Mezilow and Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Aimurat Muhammedov, both of them obtained higher education in Russia) are interested in cooperation with our university, they have invited KNRTU colleagues to participate in the nearest scientific conferences. It is planned to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between our universities.

Representatives of the Consulate asked KNRTU colleagues about the studies of Turkmen students. The Consul General of Turkmenistan in Kazan, Guich Garayev, even has noted that he often holds KNRTU up as an example for other universities in terms of working with Turkmen students.

“It is easy for us to find a common language with you, and we hope for a long-term partnership,” – emphasized Gurbanmyrat Mezilow at the end of the meeting. On the same day, representatives of the Consulate General and colleagues from Turkmenistan met with Turkmen students studying at KNRTU. The book of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov “Youth is the backbone of the country” was presented to the young people.

“Tatar and Turkmen languages are a bit similar, and we have understood a lot. We wish our Turkmen students good academic performance and attendance, and we wholeheartedly thank our guests for this important meeting” – Gulnaz Lutfullina, KNRTU Head of the Educational and Methodological Department, addressed the audience at the end of the meeting.
