JULIA N. ZIYATDINOVA




 

Julia Ziyatdinova graduated from Kazan State Pedagogical University in 1999. She continued her training and obtained PhD in Education degree in 2002. Julia Ziyatdinova obtained Doctor of Science in Education degree in 2017. Her doctoral dissertation was dedicated to internationalization of engineering education at national research universities in Russia.

Julia joined the team of Kazan State Technological University as an instructor at the Department of Foreign Languages and the School of Foreign Languages “Lingua” in 1999 and was rapidly promoted to the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages in 2003. Her teaching career was perfectly balanced by the experience of a translator and an interpreter.

The new milestone in Julia’s career was the position of the Chair of Department of Foreign Languages for Professional Communication in 2007, when she took over all the responsibilities related to foreign language training at Kazan National Research Technological University. The teaching and research priorities of her department are then focused on professional and intercultural communication for students in a technical university, professional translation and creation of foreign language environment at university.

Julia Ziyatdinova was the head of KNRTU International Office in 2011-2018 and supervised internationalization activities at KNRTU. Today Julia is the Chair of Foreign Languages for Professional Communication Department and the Director of the Higher School of Foreign Languages “Lingva”.

Julia is the key person at KNRTU in cooperation with Erasmus+ program. She is a European Higher Education Reform Expert (HERE) and an active participant of higher education modernization seminar at EU and CIS countries. In addition to developing this Jean Monnet module, she has been the member of two Capacity Building projects since 2018: Modernization of Doctoral Education in Science and Improvement of Teaching Methodologies (MODEST) and Engineering Educators Pedagogical Training (ENTER).

Julia is also a senior member of International Society for Engineering Education IGIP.

Julia is the author and co-author of over 100 publications including monographs, journal papers, conference proceedings and study guides.

In her Jean Monnet module role, Julia introduces the topics of the EU Entrepreneurship Values: Cultural Diversity and Unity the English language for professional communication classes that she traditionally teaches to engineering MSc degree students.
