The module includes four tailor-made courses on specific EU issues:

EU Textile Strategy

Professor in charge: Dr. Irina Krasina.

Course duration:29 contact hours).

The course includes lectures and practicums covering the following topics:

1. The EU textile sectors and their main areas of development.
2. New materials for textile production.
3. Modern assortment of yarns from natural and chemical fibres.
4 The use of nanotechnology in EU for creating modern textile materials.
5. Innovative EU textile weaving and knitting technologies.
6. Current trends and developments in EU nonwoven textile materials production.
7. EU research in geotextiles and agrotextiles.
8. EU innovation in production of materials for special purposes.
9. Green technologies in textile production in EU countries.


Cultural Dimensions of EU Sustainable Development

Professor in charge: Dr. Juliya Ziyatdinova

Course duration:18 contact hours).

The course includes lectures and practicums covering the following topics:

1. EU Cultural Identity and Values.
2. Diversity and Unity in the EU.
3. EU Sustainability Values and Healthy Lifestyles.
4. Integration of Cultural Policies into EU National Sustainable Development Initiatives.
5. Role of Culture in the EU Education.
6. Textiles in Cultural and Creative Industries of EU.


EU Green Deal and Circular Economy

Professor in charge: Dr. Alina Ibatullina

Course duration:24 contact hours).

The course includes lectures and practicums covering the following topics:

1. Goals of research and innovation policy EU. EU environmental institutions and bodies.
2. The issues of the EU environmental policies.
3. Certification procedures for the EU producers, new trends in environmentally friendly green chemistry and power engineering.
4. Sustainable product policy & _co-design in EU.
5. EU research and innovation for building a resource-efficient and climate-resilient society and economy in sync with the natural environment.
6. Summaries of EU legislation on environment.
7. EU Strategy for textiles.


EU Environmentally Friendly Chemical Technologies

Professor in charge: Dr. Veronica Bronskaya.

Course duration:24 contact hours).

The course includes lectures and practicums covering the following topics:

1. Review EU policy to support innovative chemical engineering methods:
- European Institute of Innovation and Technology, other partnerships and platforms;
-European PRO INNO initiative;
-European Union Innovation Policy;
-Innovation Union Program – Information Society Transition Concept.
2. EU Best Practices to Promote Green Chemistry and Sustainable Development. EU experience.
3. Functions and responsibilities of industrial enterprises.
4. Universities and centres of competence in industry as drivers of EU textile and chemical technology development.
5. European chemical associations (European Solvents Industry Group, European Petrochemical Manufacturers Association, European Chemical Distributors Association, European Plastics and Rubber Manufacturers Association, European Chemical and Molecular Sciences Association, European Geochemical Association, European Chemical Industry Council).
