The Department was established in 1971 due to the urge for new varnishes and coatings for the emerging automobile industry. The Department Chair is Professor Sergey N. Stepin.

Academics

The Department runs Specialist Degree program “Technology of High Molecular Weight Compounds” where students major in “Technology of Varnishes, Composite Materials and Coatings”; Bachelor’s Degree program “Chemical Technology and Biotechnology”, Master’s Degree program “Technology of Varnishes, Paints and Organic Coatings”.

Postgraduate Degree programs are also offered.

The Department alumni are recruited by large scale and small scale businesses.
