Academics

The Department runs:
- Bachelors Degree program in "Technology and Design of Textile Products" majoring in “Innovative Technologies of Production and Processing of Light Industry Materials.”
- Masters Degree program in "Textile Technologies and Designing" majoring in “Innovative Technologies of Composite Materials on Textile Base.”

Research

Research at the Department focuses on the following areas:

- Modification and Study of the Properties of Textile Materials;
- Development of Composite Materials on Textile Base;
- Modification of Textile Materials of Different Nature by Electrochemical, Electrophysical and Chemical Methods;
- Application of Nonequilibrium Low Temperature Plasma for Modification of High Molecular Weight Fiber Materials;
- Study of the Effect of the Finishing on the Properties of the Tapes;
- Adding Antibacterial Properties to Fibers and Fabrics of Various Nature.

Many research works of the chair have an applied character. The results of scientific research are used in the educational process of the Department in the form of new sections of lecture materials, laboratory classes, challenging situations.
