A workshop for PhD students and young researchers "European Granting Foundations for R&D Commercialization"

On February 27, 2021 KNRTU hosted a second workshop ‘European Granting Foundations for R&D Commercialization’ for PhD students and young scientists under Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module “The European Union Entrepreneurial Environment at HEIs: Changing the World by Technology Ventures”. Last year, the seminar was hosted online, this year it gathered participants offline.

The seminar started a series of meetings with young scientists related to granting activities. The acting rector of KNRTU, Yury Kazakov, opened the workshop and shared his views on the importance of different project activities for the university faculty members.

The module coordinator and leader, vice-rector for academic affairs Dilbar Sultanova gave a presentation on fund raising and writing applications for calls from international granting foundations where the Russian engineering students and young researchers can participate. She focused on a logical framework matrix as a prerequisite for starting any project. After theory, she gave students a practical experience of filling in a logical framework matrix using the example of Noah’s Ark activity. Dilbar Sultanova provided feedback by evaluating LFMs.

Chair of department of foreign languages for professional communication Julia Ziyatdinova presented information about the European granting programs including an overview of Erasmus+ program and projects, which run at KNRTU.

Associate professor of physical and colloidal chemistry department Artem Bezrukov shared his experience of a participant and an expert in international granting foundations. He shared success stories and failures, clarified the selection criteria, and summarized his experience in hints and tips of a successful application.
