On August 31, the Tatarstan Oil and Gas Chemical Forum, which were one of the largest events of the domestic oil and gas industry, started its work on the basis of Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center. KNRTU representatives joined its exhibition and business program. The decarbonization policy, energy safety, development of fuel and energy complex were important topics at the event held in Kazan for the 29th time.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the KNRTU exposition at the International exhibition TatOilExpo.

Among the participants and honored guests there were Minister of Oil and Environment of Bahrain Mohammed Bin Daina, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of UAE Suhail Al Mazroui, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom Oleg Aksyutin, Chairman of the Management Board, CEO of SIBUR LLC Mikhail Karisalov.

TatOilExpo brought together more than 160 industry companies from 25 regions of the country, as well as from China, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Cameroon. Among them were manufacturers and suppliers of oil and gas equipment, oil corporations and holdings, oil and gas production and processing enterprises, oil service and exploration companies. Russian universities were represented by Kazan Federal University, Innopolis University and KNRTU.

Yury Kazakov introduced the exposition of our university to the guests. Advanced Engineering School PromChemTech was the main topic of KNRTU stand. "We are very proud that the Republic and the largest petrochemical companies – Gazprom, SIBUR and Ammonium supported our school. The total amount of funding from the industrial partners is more than ₽ 500 million, and from the republic - ₽ 600 million," said the head of the university.

This scope of industrial involvement is not accidental, since the Advanced Engineering School represents a form of transformation of engineering education through interaction with partners.

Together with GazProm, KNRTU has already opened a new master’s degree program in oil and gas transportation equipment within the department at GazProm Transgaz Kazan. Two master’s degree programs with SIBUR are planned in the nearest future. A master’s degree program with Ammonium company has already been launched, and joint work on new mineral fertilizers development was started.

KNRTU presented the samples, which the university offered to its partners. Among them were mineral fertilizers of prolonged action (gradually releasing nutrients into the soil at a set rate), hydraulic fracturing fluids for enhanced oil recovery, oil spill response, samples of agricultural and polymer wastes processed by the proprietary technology, production technology of one of the most important monomers - propylene oxide by cumene method.

Oleg Sapaev, the representative of KNRTU industrial partner presented realistic digital simulators - models of oil and gas plants. These models attracted attention of Rustam Minnikhanov and other guests.

The use of such simulators will be an important part in training specialists for oil and gas industry at KNRTU Advanced Engineering School "PromChemTech".

TatOilExpo International Exhibition was held at Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center from August 31 till September 2.
