Department of Food Engineering at Small Enterprises was founded in 2006 and since then it has been chaired by Full Professor Mstislav A. Polivanov.

Academics

The Department runs Specialist Degree program “Food Engineering at Small-Scale Enterprises”, which is interesting and necessary for the economics of the Tatarstan Republic.

The Department has close links and partnerships with the following industrial enterprises: Krasnyi Vostok (www.efesrussia.ru , www.efesglobal.com), Tatspirtprom (www.tatspirtprom.ru), Kazanorgsintez (www.kazanorgsintez.ru), etc. and with the following Research Institutes: Kazan Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics (www.kibb.knc.ru), Tatar scientific research institute of agriculture of RAAS (www.tatniva.ru)

Research

The research at the Department is carried out in the following fields:

  • engineering of processes and devices for processing agricultural raw materials at small-scale enterprises;
  • influence of raw materials processing on the production quality;
  • research of starch characteristics, its derivatives and food supplements;
  • formation of course and degree projects for realization of design-active formation model “full dietary nutrition of rising generation”;
  • pedagogical issues of university engineering education in the context of multilevel system;
  • participation of the department with the institute of additional professional education of KSTU in the organization and realization of vocational training and retraining of small-scale food enterprises experts in the Republic of Tatarstan.
