RAEX Rating Agency (RAEX-Analytics) published the annual rating of the best universities in Russia - RAEX-100. In its preparation, statistical indicators of educational institutions were used, as well as the results of surveys of more than 60 thousand academic and scientific representatives, students and graduates, and employers.

There are 3 universities from the Republic of Tatarstan in RAEX-100: Kazan Federal University, Kazan National Research Technological University and Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev. KNRTU took 83rd place, having improved its rating by 6 positions compared to the last year.

The assessment was conducted in three areas: conditions for obtaining quality education (KNRTU ranked 79th, in 2019 — 90th), the level of demand for graduates by employers — 126th place (123rd last year) and the level of research and development activity – 51st (48th - in 2019).
