ADVANCED ENGINEERING SCHOOL TO BE CREATED AT KNRTU

05.07.2022

KNRTU has been announced a winner of the Russian federal call for establishing Advanced Engineering Schools. The results were announced on June 30 by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

KNRTU Advanced Engineering School Promkhimtech is among 30 other winning projects. The school will focus on developing state-of-the-art industrial technologies in science-driven fields of chemical engineering with high commercialization potential.

The Promkhimtech leader and head of KNRTU Technology Transfer Office Ruslan Paley says that Russian chemical industry is facing critical dependency on imported low-tonnage substances. The KNRTU advanced school will help to achieve research excellence in the field and provide innovative training to future engineers.

The advanced engineering school will incorporate innovative educational technologies including CDIO standards (Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate) and project-based learning featuring cross-cutting digital technologies and digital simulation.

By 2030, Promkhimtech is aiming to have trained over 10, 000 graduates through the combination of KNRTU academic courses and the recourses of industrial partners. Sibur, Gazprom, Ammoni, RTsim and the Tatarstan Government are supporting the project and will provide funding for launching the school.
