KNRTU STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE INTERNATIONAL OIL AND GAS FORUM

KNRTU students took part in the 5th International Petroleum Youth Forum in Almetyevsk. The event was held jointly with the Oil Summit “Fuel and Energy Complex of Russia 2050: Technological Leadership as a Key Driver of Sustainable Future”.

The forum was held under the sign of a commonwealth of enterprising young specialists from various regions and fields of activity, striving for the formation of technological leadership in the Russian fuel and energy complex. The event included trainings, master classes, business simulations, tournaments and intellectual games to promote the development of business thinking, economic competencies and the ability to sell one's own ideas.

The main competitive platform of the forum was the hackathon Development of Fuel and Energy Complex 2050, where 40 teams solved 20 real business problems relevant for PJSC Tatneft. The finalists presented their projects before an authoritative expert committee consisting of the Company's top managers and business area leaders.

KNRTU was represented by Regina Gaffanova, a student of the Department of Chemical Technology of Petroleum and Gas Processing, and Yaroslava Zhukova and Maryana Moryakova, students of Synthetic Rubber Technology Department. Zemfira Sanatullova, Associate Professor of Engineering Ecology Department, acted as an expert.

The students were divided into different tracks and teams. Regina's team solved the case Conversion of By-Products into Products in Demand for the Company on the example of butane-butylene fraction of LLC Togliattikauchuk. For their contribution to the solution of the case, the team, which took 2nd place in its track and 4th place out of 20 in the final, received certificates for 20,000 rubles and an invitation to undergo one-month internships at TATNEFT Group enterprises.
