Vladimir Kurashov, Professor of the Department of Social Work, Pedagogics and Psychology, has published a textbook on philosophy in the publishing house of Lomonosov Moscow State University. It complements such popular works of the famous scientist as “Principles of Philosophy”, “Beginnings of Philosophy of Science”, “History and Philosophy of Chemistry”, “Philosophical Aphorisms and Wisdom of Life”, as well as a series of publications devoted to the wooden architecture of Kazan.
The new book is characterized by a close combination of text and illustration, which is reflected in its title. As the author says, the idea of creating a training manual came to him as a result of numerous lectures and seminars, during which, as the material was explained, drawings were made with chalk on a blackboard or felt-tip pen on a flipchart.
The content of the book is organized in an associative way: the author considers such questions as “Philosophy and Life”, “Consciousness”, “The Formation of Personality”, “Problems of Cognition of the World”, “Happiness”, “The Meaning of Life”, etc.; stops at the reception of Socrates' teachings in different epochs, touches upon the history and development of technology, art, medicine.
The book includes both well-known philosophical positions presented in a popular form and the results of the author's scientific work. The book is intended for those who study and teach philosophical disciplines, as well as for those who are self-educated or who seek a deeper understanding of the issues that are in the focus of modern philosophy.
“Illustrated Introduction to Philosophy” by V. I. Kurashov in paper version can be purchased in all popular book retailing networks. In electronic version the edition is available on Book On Lime.
