Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (UIN Jakarta), Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar visited KNRTU on September 4, 2024 as a part of UIN Jakarta’s cooperation visit team. The delegation had an official meeting with Prof. Dilbar Sh. Sultanova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, who presented KNRTU to the guests.

For Indonesian colleagues, this is the first visit to Kazan and Tatarstan. “We are interested in collaborating with Russian universities. The fact that Islam is prominent in Russia’s culture and history can, hopefully, help us develop and strengthen our academic connections” said Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar.

UIN Jakarta is an Islamic University. It is highly important, that besides Islamic Studies, there are faculties of psychology, economics, business, natural science and technology, and etc. It also carries out research work, publications and holds international conferences.

KNRTU got interested in the potential collaboration with UIN Jakarta. “Nowadays, the cooperation between Russian and Indonesian institutions has just started getting improved, and there is a high potential in it” emphasized Prof. Dilbar Sh. Sultanova. She also gave a brief overview of KNRTU’s institutes, their main fields of study and scientific profiles. UIN Jakarta’s cooperation visit team was particularly interested in the Institute of Innovation Management, IT and Pharmacology programs.

Both parties agreed that there is a small amount of Indonesian students in Kazan, but its number will definitely grow. UIN Jakarta is willing to provide opportunity for Master’s Degree students to study in Russia and Tatarstan. In this respect, KNRTU has a lot of experience in working with international students and implementing foreign language-based programs. KNTRU and UIN Jakarta came up to an agreement to proceed to contacting and search opportunities for prospective collaboration.
