KNRTU students Ruslan Akhmetov (Institute of Oil, Chemistry, and Nanotechnology) and Ruslan Misbakhov (Institute of Polymers) participated in the Ambassador Marathon hosted by Irkutsk Oil Company, held from September 12 to 13 on the shores of Lake Baikal.
Over two days, the students engaged with company leaders, attended lectures, participated in workshops, and developed their own projects aimed at solving specific challenges in the oil industry.
Ruslan Akhmetov’s project, "Shift Work – The New Remote Work", was recognized as one of the best. His concept focuses on attracting young people to work in rotational shifts. He proposed creating conditions that would appeal to the younger generation and breaking the stereotype that shift work is only for "tough men."
“My project is aimed at showing young people, who are needed by any industrial company, that rotational shift work isn’t what it seems and shouldn’t be feared. To encourage more youth to take up shift work, I suggested improving living conditions and reconsidering work schedules. I hope my project will be heard, and we’ll see more young talent entering the oil industry,” Ruslan shared.
Thanks to his project, the KNRTU student was selected as one of the 15 ambassadors for Irkutsk Oil Company. He will now represent the brand within the university and promote it among other students.
