On September 16, the grand opening of the 5th PetroChemSkills Professional Skills Industry Championship, organized and hosted by SIBUR, took place in Nizhnekamsk. The rector of KNRTU, Yury Kazakov, participated in the opening ceremony.

This large-scale industry competition is conducted according to WorldSkills standards. Each year, SIBUR brings together skilled workers and students from technical universities to emphasize the prestige of their professions and provide opportunities for developing their competencies.

Traditionally, the competition is held at three locations across Russia, one of which is the N.V. Lemaev College of Petrochemistry and Oil Processing in Nizhnekamsk. Participants include not only industry workers but also students, including those from KNRTU. They are eagerly awaited at industry enterprises and SIBUR.

During the opening ceremony, an agreement was also ceremoniously signed to establish the "SIBURINTECH-NK" training center based at the Nizhnekamsk Chemical Technological Institute, a remote campus of KNRTU.

"We hope that one of the stages of the next championship will be held at our facility," the rector shared optimistically.
