Associate Professor of Technology Services Department of KNRTU Veronica A. Mendelson took part in the training program for management personnel of the tourism industry “Hospitality. Reboot-2024. BRICS”.

The training was organized by the State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan ahead of the BRICS summit.

Important topics, such as rules of intercultural communications and cultural peculiarities of the BRICS member countries, basics of etiquette and protocol (how to properly meet and interact with high-ranking guests, basics of guest service according to Halal standards, basic aspects of hospitality and international standards of guest service) were covered.

This short-term training program is meant for tourism industry employees and has been conducted since 2013. The program allows to improve the quality of work in accommodation facilities, catering establishments, and tour operators.

“In order to prepare employees engaged in the tourism industry, it is necessary to constantly work on their education, qualifications, competencies and skills, to give them new knowledge and techniques. The importance of such training on the eve of a large political international event is difficult to overestimate,” said Veronica A. Mendelson, Associate Professor of Technology Services Department.
