Sergey Saveliev and Anna Savelieva, lecturers of the Department of Engineering Ecology of the Chemical Engineering and Technology Institute of KNRTU spent the end of September at the Belarusian State Technological University (BSTU). The internship under the program “Methods of wastewater treatment and sludge utilization” became possible thanks to the Grant of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan “Algarysh”.

During the internship the lecturers got acquainted with the main directions of educational and research activities of the Department of Industrial Ecology, with the modern equipment of laboratories of the Physical and Chemical Research Methods Center and its functional capabilities, as well as with the testing complex of the high-temperature analysis laboratory of the Department of Glass, Ceramics and Binding Materials Technology. A meeting was held with Yury Yanuta, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Institute of Nature Management of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, where the possibilities of joint performance of research work were discussed.

The result of the internship was not only the acquisition of new knowledge in the field of environmental technologies, but also an agreement on scientific cooperation and, in particular, joint research aimed at the utilization of sewage sludge in the production of ceramic products.
