The project group consisting of Gulnaz Lutfullina, Director of the Educational and Methodological Office, and Gulnaz Rakhmatullina, Acting Chair of the Department of Plasma-Chemical Technologies of Nanomaterials and Coatings, completed an internship within the framework of the grant of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan “Algarysh” at the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry.
The internship took place from October 19 to October 26 under the program “Development of International Cooperation” in the field of “Materials Science and Technologies of Materials”.
“Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry is a leading university in Central Asia. Over 90 years of work, it has not only trained thousands of qualified specialists for key sectors of Uzbekistan's economy, but also made a great contribution to the organization and planning of production at leading industrial enterprises. It is interesting that both undergraduate and graduate courses are taught here in Uzbek and Russian languages,” says Gulnaz Lutfullina.
Colleagues held meetings with the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Ismailzhon Bulanov, as a result of which the Memorandum between KNRTU and Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry was signed and plans for mutually beneficial cooperation were defined.
The colleagues also met with the staff of the Department of Leather and Footwear Engineering, headed by its Chair, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Dilnoza Pazilova. The Department has highly qualified lecturers, including 4 Professors and 9 Associate Professors, who shared their experience of participation in ERASMUS+ projects in the field of innovative development of leather goods production in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
In turn, representatives of KNRTU shared about the projects implemented in our university and introduced the latest studies in the field of materials science and technology of materials.
During the meetings and negotiations, the parties reached agreements on joint scientific research, preparation and publication of scientific articles in highly rated journals. KNRTU scientists got acquainted with the instrumental base of the Technopark of Tashkent Institute, where the line for dyeing of natural fiber materials was launched, as well as with 4 laboratories (analytical, instrumental, physical-mechanical and experimental-testing). As a result of the internship, the Double Bachelor's Degree Program on the basis of KNRTU, as well as the possibility of conducting industrial (research) practice of KNRTU Master's Degree students in Tashkent were preliminary agreed upon. KNRTU project team also visited Bukhara Engineering – Technological Institute, where a meeting with Dean Sayfullo Muzzaev and Associate Professor Zhuma Azimov was held, resulting in the agreement of the draft Memorandum between KNRTU and Bukhara Engineering – Technological Institute.
Colleagues were acquainted with the laboratory for quality assessment and assortment of leather and fur products, as well as with the scientific directions of the faculty, focused on improving the aesthetic and utilitarian properties of karakul with the use of biopolymer compositions, as well as on the development of design and development of effective technology of preventive footwear for diabetics.
There were also meetings with managers and employees of the Bukhara Karakul and Fur Fashion companies, that presented the range of products: products made of karakul skins, fox, mink, as well as the features of the technology of dressing Bukhara karakul skins.
“Internship in Uzbekistan allowed us to study in detail the features and achievements of educational and scientific activities in the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry and Bukhara Institute of Engineering and Technology, to agree on plans to develop an educational program for bachelors in light industry technology, as well as to determine the prospects of our future cooperation,” - summed up Gulnaz Lutfullina.
