KNRTU BECAME ONE OF THE TOP 3 LEADERS IN THE NUMBER OF PROMISING RUSSIAN STARTUPS

22.11.2024

Thirty-two of KNRTU’s most promising student startups have made it into the 2024 Top 1000 University Startups ranking, part of the federal project “University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform”. This achievement placed the university second among all Russian higher education institutions. The top five universities also include ITMO, MIPT, Kazan Federal University, and Tomsk Polytechnic University.

The results of the ranking were announced at the All-Russian Forum on Technological Entrepreneurship. KNRTU was represented at the forum by leading figures such as Elina Vasilieva, lead engineer of the Student Educational and Project Activities Department and curator of the “Startup as a Diploma” program. Participants in the program included Tatiana Voloshina (Department of Medical Engineering), Andrey Goryachev (Department of Chemical Technology of Petroleum and Gas Processing), and Alina Khaliullina (Department of Industrial Biotechnology). Representatives in the Top 50 University Startups category were Amina Sabirdzhanova (Department of Collecting and Processing Data Automated Systems; scientific supervisor: Albina Azanova and Ekaterina Abzaldinova) and Razilya Tukhbieva (Department of Pyrotechnic and Composite Materials Technology; scientific supervisor: Albina Azanova and Rafael Kryev).

When compiling the ranking, experts considered financial, human resources, and regulatory indicators of each startup. This approach, typically used for analyzing business processes, helps identify leaders even at the earliest stages of development.

“It is gratifying that KNRTU student projects are receiving federal-level support. Today, skills in technological entrepreneurship have become one of the key competitive factors in the professional development of young people, and this is precisely one of our university’s strengths. KNRTU has created an excellent infrastructure to support student projects. We invite those who see themselves in technological entrepreneurship to join our university. I am confident that all the students’ ideas will be realized, and I wish them great success,” said KNRTU Rector Yuri Kazakov.
