The final fashion show of professional design contest “FASHION bitva”, Season 12 held place in Moscow. One of the winners is Anna Stepanova, KNRTU Department of Design student. She will go to China to participate in Russian Fashion Display.

“Nations of the world” was the theme for the Moscow show. 20 different designers from different parts of Russia showed their collections with references to different ethnos.

For Anna, the participation in the event was an important milestone in her professional growth. “I took inspiration from leather mosaic – the “distinctive feature” of Kazan Tatars. Besides trendy silhouettes, materials and accessories, there are stylized inserts of flexible plastic that resemble Tatar ornament. This experience helped me look beyond the usual perception of Ethnos fashion. It was a challenge that helped me unlock my potential and see folk elements in clothing under new light,” said Anna.

“I am very proud of our students and always tell them to participate in contests, since it is important for their professional life,” said Prof. Venera V. Khammatova, the Chair of the Department of Design. She continues, “Each and every one of them is special. It brings me a lot of joy to work with them. Anna is a real professional that puts her soul in her work, which is incredibly important in the world of fashion and design.”
