On January 25th, Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, visited KNRTU building “D”, where he met with students and inspected the renovated infrastructure facilities of the university – cultural and leisure center and sport complex. Among the invitees were Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Khadiullin, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rinat Sadykov, Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan and Marat Aizatullin, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan. Yury Kazakov, Rector of KNRTU, welcomed the guests and presented the university sites.

The meeting began with an introduction to the representatives of KNRTU student organizations – the press-center of the Union of Students and Postgraduates, headquarters of the student squad “Technologist”, creative group CHAI, student sports club KRONOS and search team “Chemist”. Then Rustam Minnikhanov made a trip around the university building: he visited the cafeteria, the branded areas and also got acquainted with two facilities opened after the major repairs.

The renewed cultural and leisure center of KNRTU is supplied with a modern media equipment, include dance and rehearsal halls, costume rooms and even a music studio. The capacity of the assembly hall is 460 people. After the renovation, an additional light sources were added to the room, and the ceiling of the hall was completely transformed to improve acoustic characteristics. Very soon the cultural and leisure center will become the heart of student creativity and social life: it will be used for festivals, student concerts, events of the university, the city and the Republic, as well as for various seminars and conferences.

The sports complex (building “M”) became another renovated space of KNRTU. After a major repair, the equipment and inventory were completely replaced with new ones, three functional zones, new locker rooms and showers were installed here.

“Kazan National Research Technological University is a backbone organization, a member of the “Priority – 2030” and “Advanced Engineering Schools” Federal Projects. KNRTU students are lucky – they study in a highly demanded university, as our Republic is primarily industrial. Your majors will be the highest priority today and tomorrow. In the renovates facilities we saw that is everything is new and functional. Together we will work on further plans and participate in the development of the university. Have a good journey!” said Rustam Minnikhanov, addressing the student activists.

I am sure that the fully renovated sports complex and culture and leisure center of KNRTU will become the favorite attraction for our students,” said Yury Kazakov.
