On January 31st, the results of the national program of professional development of departments and laboratories chairs “School of Laboratory Heads” were summed up in Kazan. The event was attended by Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The program was implemented with the support of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan Federal University and the Higher School of State and Municipal Management “School of Laboratory Heads”. This project covered such aspects of work as preparation of scientific publications in highly rated journals, patent analysis, patenting, obtaining grants, search and support of youth startups. Leading federal and national experts shared their experience of interaction with the real sector of economy and developments commercialization. Among the invited experts was Zulfiya Kadeeva, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Innovative Entrepreneurship, Law and Financial Management. More than 400 people completed the program and 26 of them were the heads of the scientific branches of KNRTU.

At the end of the study, 147 scientific projects were presented by the participants and 9 best of them were demonstrated with the participation of Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan. One of them was the project of the KNRTU team (Dr., Sc., Prof. Denis Tuntsev; Dr., Sc., Prof. Nataliya Tikhonova and Dr. Sc., Associate Professor Alexander Parsanov) called “Time of the Youth” – a program designed to attract young personnel in the academic and university environment.

“The “Time of the Youth” program can be implemented during the year, with the involvement of 2nd and 3rd year Bachelor’s Degree students. It consists of 5 blocks, which are the selection of the best students; popularization of science among youth; advanced training in the field of creating scientific projects, writing articles, patents, grant applications and building aa dialogue with enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan. At the end of the program, students will present scientific projects that will be evaluated by both representatives of science and industry,” said Nataliya Tikhonova, Chair of the Department of Clothing and Footwear Design.

Alexander Parsanov, Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical and Natural Fibers and Textile Technology, said that the “School of Laboratory Heads” program has a great practical value. During the studies, they defined the tasks facing the Republic of Tatarstan in scientific and technical activities. An important aspect was the establishment of inter-university interaction between colleagues, which allowed them to take a fresh look at existing problems.

Professor Denis Tuntsev, Chair of the Department of Chemical Cybernetics, shared that the project presented by the KNRTU team was warmly accepted by the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan and will be included to the program of scientific and technological development for 2025.
